From her shop profile: I am Annapaola Rapacciuolo, a graduate goldsmith and jewellery designer born in Italy near the city of Naples, which has a great tradion of goldsmiths and miniatures (yes, this is the famous city of San Gregorio Armeno, the "street of cribs").
I’ve always been a person with...logistical problems: this pushes me to make “pocket” and reduced to essentials all I have. Jewels are one of the smallest (in terms of size of course) existent art forms. I studied jewelry design at the largest jewelry center in southern Italy (the Tarì of Marcianise), but my first encounter with this world so fascinating was when i was a child during an archaeological exhibition in which I saw the jewels found under the ashes of Vesuvius. They live through not only people but also the most of the works of art and buildings: having a great symbolic and economic value and small size, they were the principal objects that all the people took while were fleeing.
A jewel for me is “portable art”.
She has also been featured in "Daily Accessories" in May, 2010, an Italian fashion magazine.
